I Have a set of SSR competition (type C if you wana be JDM about it=) NO BENDS, curb rash etc. , 9lbs, 15x6.5 +42mm.
They are straight as can be, but here are the other things which you may not like, or might be fine with. They were painted black, when BRAND new (i bought these in 2000, and used for about 3 years, then they've been sitting since). The paint has held up great, i sanded the very outer edges so tire mounting/dismounting wouldn't chip or scratch the paint- so the VERY outer 2mm or so of the edge is polished aluminum. SSR stickers 1 per rim where they're supposed to be right on the spoke face. Semi solid forged/ and competition stickers were never put on.
They have TOYO RA1s currently mounted- good for track days. 205/50/15s.
I used them once this march at the track, otherwise they've just been sitting.
They're NICE ( i can get pics if you're interested ), super light, super strong, totally rare (b/c nobody paints them), and in great shape.
I'd want about $800 for them, try to find another set as light for that price (with race tires mounted and balanced).
I'd love to keep using them if only they were 8" wide- i use 225/45/15s and they're too narrow for that size tire.
Back when i was looking i had the same ideas in mind, REAL jdm wheels, TOP quality, and somewhat unusual. These were as light, nice looking and cheaper than the other jdms at the time, spoon, regamaster, volk etc...
Let me know. you can email spilkert@hotmail.com
